Family Transitional Housing & Stabilization — Martha’s House

Martha’s House provides alcohol- and substance-free transitional housing for homeless families with children and a limited number of single women in Umatilla and Morrow Counties. Residents live in safe, home-like units for approximately 3–6 months while working toward permanent housing.

Participants receive comprehensive wraparound support, including individualized case management, life skills and financial literacy education, employment and housing assistance, parenting support, and referrals to mental health and childcare services. Residents are required to actively pursue employment and housing and to save 30% of earned income to build financial stability.

Martha’s House serves approximately 18 families (about 60 individuals) annually, with 81% successfully transitioning to permanent housing.

Volunteers are needed to assist with daily operations, organize community events, and provide support to residents

Join Our Work Crew. Residents of Martha's House do weekly chores to keep the building clean and well-maintained, but we plan a community spring and fall work day each year to take on bigger projects. Get on our notification list by emailing our house manager at marthashouse305hermiston@gmail.com.

To continue making a meaningful impact, Martha's House is seeking the support of Sponsors, Volunteers, and Mentors.

Become a Mentor.

Mentors play a crucial role by offering guidance and encouragement to families as they navigate their paths to independence.

Each adult who comes into Martha's House is paired with a mentor from the community who checks in weekly to help encourage and guide them toward their goals. All it takes is a listening ear and a willingness to help. Fill out the volunteer application at the link below to get started.
